 POST SEASON ALL-STARS

LITTLE LEAGUE REQUIREMENTS TO PLAY ALL STARS:

Age is verified by a birth certificate from Country of birth
(Canadian passports do not qualify for proof of age at this time)

Residency is verified by 3 documents dated no later than FEB 1 of the current year
(ie.Property taxes, utility bills, school records).
These documents are required for Sanctioned Teams below (see *)

WHAT IS ALL-STARS?
  • Players MUST reside in the NL Boundary or have a Little League waiver obtained at the start of spring season - CLICK HERE FOR THE BOUNDARY MAP (NL is purple)
  • Players must have participated in half of the league scheduled games during the spring season to be eligible for All Stars
  • North Langley All-Stars has a post season league that provides an exciting & more competitive level of play than is experienced during our House Program.
  • Cost is $75 or $100 for Sanctioned teams which covers Field User Fees, Uniforms, some Equipment + Little League charges & is payable after Teams are announced by registering online for the SUMMER season with RAMP'S Online Registration Platform
  • Tournament Fees (if any) will be an extra charge & collected by the team parent separately
  • Fair play rule is usually modified.  Little League Sanction District & Provincial tournament are Play 9 - Bat 9 with subs rotating into the game.  Invitational tournaments rules are set by the tournament host but are typically a variation of Little League District rules and the House Program's fair play rules.
  • All-Star's focus on a commitment to the team & a commitment to practices.  All players have a role in the team and are valued for that role.  If their role is not as a starter at first, hard work & great attitude will still shine through in their effort and ability to have a rewarding post season play with the team.

Teams are formed by AGE & are typically:

  • 8 year olds All-Stars
  • 9-10 Majors All-Stars - play in LL Sanctioned Districts (play 9 - Bat 9)*
  • 9 year old Selects
  • 9-10 Selects
  • 11-12 Majors - play in LL Sanctioned Districts (play 9 - Bat 9)*
  • 11 year old selects
  • 11-12 Selects
  • Juniors (13/14 year olds) - can choose to play LL Sanctioned Provincials* or an Invitational
  • Seniors (15-18 year olds) - a district 3 team is formed with players from NLDS, Langley City, Coquitlam and Whalley

Draft Order:
Where a division has more than one team, the draft order is as follows:
  • 1st - Majors teams are drafted.  This team is primarily made up of mostly the older age group from the tryout pool.  Players get a min. of 3 defensive outs & 1 at bat for District Sanctioned tournaments.  Invitation tournaments will have their own fair play rules.
  • 2nd - 11 Selects or 9 Selects - Variations of Fair play rules are usually in effect
  • 3rd - 11-12 Minors or 9-10 Minors consists of players in both age groups that do not make the Majors or younger aged select team.  If there is a shortage of players trying out in a division this 3rd team is not drafted.- Variations of Fair play rules are usually in effect

WHEN DOES ALL-STARS START?
  • Immediately following the House Season in mid June.
  • Most teams have a minimum of 1 invitational tournament in early July with others playing into late July
  • 9/10 Majors District winners go on to Provincial Tournaments
  • 11/12 Majors District winners go on to Provincials, then Nationals then LL World Series if the winning streak continues
  • Juniors go straight into Provincials, Provincial Champions going onto Nationals

WHO CAN PLAY ALL-STARS?
  • ALL players are eligible to tryout but only ~12 will make each team.

WHERE DO ALL-STAR TEAMS PLAY?
  • Most tournament are held within our District (Little League D3) - see tournament link at top of page
  • Tournaments hosted in North Langley require parent support by way of lending a helping hand to make it a success.
  • Some tournaments may be in Vancouver or out of town depending on the coach & the team
